The IO.OS^® Developer API enables you to harness the power of IO.OS to manage and monitor your data center and provide business intelligence, real-time visibility, and control of your environment from within your existing software solution. The IO.OS standard Web Service API enables you to develop custom connectors between your existing front and backend user interfaces so you can control how IO.OS data is retrieved and displayed.

By leveraging the IO.OS Developer API, you can monitor all your data center partitions from either a logical or physical perspective. Use the logical perspective to view the context within which a partition belongs, for example, an air handler belonging to the Energy Recovery Network (ERN) or a PDU belonging to the Power Distribution Network (PDN). Or use the physical perspective to find a partition by the location in which it resides, if the location is a more direct way of identifying where a partition is housed. No matter which perspective applies better to your environment, use the web services API as a connector for your software to report the current status of partition, device, or sensor measurements and how they compare to configured thresholds, and to identify near real-time alarms and warnings so you can take immediate action to correct issues.

An IO.OS Web Service API connector enables you to interface with individual partitions and their devices and measurements. You can access current measurements for one or more sensors and chart historical sensor data for the previous hour, day, week, or month. Many calls provide optional response data caching to reduce data retrieval by only transmitting data that has changed since the last request. .
