IO Bolsters Senior Management Team with Three New Appointments

(PHOENIX, Ariz.) - IO, the leading provider of digital energy technology, today announced three new appointments including Kevin Malik, IO Chief Information Officer; David Shaw, IO Chief Operating Officer; and Kathy Kim, IO Vice President of Corporate Communications. The additions bolster IO’s senior management team to support the Company’s rapid growth, global expansion, and leadership position in the data center industry.

Kevin Malik, as Chief Information Officer, oversees network operations, software development, governance, architecture, and IT strategy. Mr. Malik previously served as Vice President, Global Enterprise Applications, for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. During his 10-year tenure at Starwood, Mr. Malik oversaw Finance and HR systems in over 20 different countries and was a key advisor on data center and infrastructure trends. Prior to Starwood, Mr. Malik was a lead consultant for a large SAP deployment for the City of Phoenix and worked as a consultant with Accenture.

Bringing over 30 years of experience, David Shaw, as Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for global Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™) Operations, Customer Account Management and Support Services. Mr. Shaw has extensive data center operations and management-related experience in the Healthcare, Finance, Defense, Government and IT manufacturing industries with region-specific expertise in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, and the Middle East. Mr. Shaw is certified in ITIL Service Management and earned an Electronic Engineering degree with the Royal Air Force. With Mr. Shaw’s appointment, IO co-founder William Slessman, now serves as Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for Global Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing and Site Installation. Since the Company’s inception in 2007, Mr. Slessman served as Chief Operating Officer, where he led all operations and technology infrastructure.

Kathy Kim, as Vice President, Corporate Communications, is responsible for the implementation of PR strategy and oversees strategic communications, including analyst relations, as well as promoting IO’s image in existing and new markets. Ms. Kim previously served as Senior Director of Marketing Communications for JDA Software Group, Inc., where she led its global rebranding initiative, and also held positions at PR agencies GCI Group and Fleishman-Hillard.
