Account Executive

Description:
The Account Executive position is primarily responsible for creating demand, qualifying leads, negotiating sales contracts, and closing sales effectively with commercial customers located within their geographical assignment.

    Responsibilites:
  • Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas in an enterprise wide capacity
  • Driving mindshare and traction within IO prospect base
  • Acting as a lead generator and market maker with regional commercial customers
  • Communicating (verbal and formal presentation) the value proposition of IO to any qualified prospect on the phone and in person
  • Networking in community events, professional associations, and trade shows to generate name recognition, leads, goodwill
  • Must understand IO’s products and services, how they are differentiated, priced, contracted and competitively positioned
  • Conducting on-site briefings and tours of IO’s data center(s) when required
  • Visiting clients wherever they may be located, as required and as approved by management
  • Interfacing with IO’s internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, lead tracking systems, quoting systems, etc
  • Gathering and assessing customer requirements and turning them into sales quotes and proposals in a timely and effective manner
  • Functioning as a senior member of the sales team with the primary focus of driving sales through our region
  • Maintaining an accurate pipeline and forecast within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on a weekly basis
  • Account Executive may also be called upon to handle phone inquiries and provide phone coverage on an as needed basis
    Qualifications:
  • 5-9 years of specific experience with data center sales, data center colocation, data center technology infrastructure and/or data center outsourcing.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding all objectives and quotas – with recent relevant wins.
  • Proven track record of enterprise wide transactions – recent wins that demonstrate success of building from early pilot deployments to broader enterprise rollouts.
  • Proven success of building a territory in an early stage technology company.
  • Priority on named account and strategic account experience.
  • Strong lead assessment and management skills.
  • Significant experience with very large account management and complex strategic selling cycles.
  • Ability to craft and execute a total solution vs. a point solution sale.
  • Experienced selling with strategic partners.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proven communication and networking skills.
  • Passionate about achieving individual and team success. Self driven, motivated and results oriented.
    Education:
  • BA or BS in Business or a related discipline, MBA preferred
