Operations Technician

Description:
As the highly qualified Operations Technician, we will rely on you to provide technical support in an “always on” data center environment. You will interface with employees and customers in a technical support capacity while performing the following duties:

  • Perform all routine Data Center operations: collect data at all sites, identify deterioration of components and assist field personnel with repairs to all equipment
  • Actively identify and solve Data Center operation issues; escalate as necessary to appropriate technical and customer support staff
  • Track and update tickets on a daily basis using ticketing system. Process trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment
  • Act as the first responder for all technical and facility related issues within the Data Center
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvement actions related to Data Center operations
  • Participate in continued education related to new equipment and process
    Qualifications:
    • High School diploma; additional trade / technical education strongly preferred
    • 1 year prior Data Center experience
    • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a Data Center environment
    • End-user computer support and/or telecom experience a plus
    • Ability to quickly troubleshoot technical situations in a Data Center facility and resolve effectively and efficiently
    • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and customers
    • Demonstrated project management skills, organization / time management skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Motivated self-starter who excels at working independently and who can regularly interface with other team members
    • Ability to work on a range of technical scenarios with diverse scope and complexity
    • Ability to be flexible with schedule to include weekends and holidays, including working night shifts
